Inn-Hyuck Cho is a distinguished South Korean clarinetist recognized as one of the leading artists of his generation. He previously served as principal clarinet of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra in New York, following earlier appointments with the Basel Symphony and Musikkollegium Winterthur in Switzerland. Renowned for his versatility and artistry, Cho has performed with many of the world’s top ensembles, including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Orchestre de Paris, Zurich Tonhalle, Bavarian Radio Chamber Orchestra, Luzern Symphony, Radio France Philharmonic, Zurich Philharmonia, and the Seoul Philharmonic.
As a soloist, he is a laureate of both the Carl Nielsen and Debussy International Clarinet Competitions. His solo appearances include performances with the Odense Symphony, Montclair Orchestra, New York Classical Players, Musikkollegium Winterthur, KBS Symphony, Korean National Symphony, Suwon Philharmonic, Gwangju Symphony, and PyeongChang Festival Orchestra. A dedicated chamber musician, Cho is a founding member of the Alma Woodwind Quintet, which won first prize at the Henri Tomasi International Woodwind Quintet Competition in Marseille.
He studied at the Korean National University of Arts and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, where he trained under Michel Arrignon and Pascal Moragués. Inn-Hyuck Cho currently serves as Associate Professor of Clarinet at Hanyang University in Seoul, where he continues to perform actively while mentoring the next generation of musicians.
